In partnership with the Jeu de Paume Museum, on December 10th Beth Weinstein presented an in-situ performance at the Cité internationale des arts, States of Exception. This performance draws from Dorothea Lange’s images of internment on exhibition at the Jeu de Paume. States of Exception is part of an ongoing body of work, Intern[ed] (2016-), in which she examines government utterances, such as Executive Orders, the spaces of internment these called forth and forms of invisibility they produced.
